Mount Hospital Redevelopment

A redevelopment of a major Private Hospital in the Perth CBD. Adding to our impressive private hospital portfolio, this project scope included a new four storey Operating Theatre wing, Sterile Supply Department, Plant room, refurbishment of nine existing Theatres and CSSD, and infrastructure upgrades including major Switchboards, HVAC and Fire Services within a fully operational 24 hour hospital.

PDA were engaged as project manager to coordinate the initial brief, budget and planning phase. Following this, a full suite of design consultants were appointed and co-ordinated by PDA, including a managing contractor. Statutory approvals were executed, including liaising with the Department of Health licensing unit. PDA completed full superintendent and project management services on behalf of Healthscope, one of Australia’s largest private hospital operators

The main expansion works, including two new state of the art operating theatres, opened in 2014. The subsequent existing theatre and CSSD refurbishment was completed in 2017. Following this PDA were engaged for a new Theatre redevelopment project, including WA’s first private Hybrid Operating Theatre, completed in 2018.

This Project was a recipient of an Australian Institute of Building – Professional Excellence Award for Commercial Construction ($10m – $50m).
